Tandemed

Posted by stuff4sam on July 3, 2006

Success! James and I did our first cycling outing yesterday and luckily it went well. We borrowed Tina and Steve’s sleek racing tandem and did six circuits of Richmond Park. While dodging cars, small children and ducks and despite the high temperatures we managed to notch up 44 miles in four hours. Not bad for a first outing. Our next trip will be the real thing on Saturday – 120 miles through the night to Suffolk.

Success! We have a tandem! Through a friend of a friend of a colleague we have managed to find a suitable tandem to borrow for the big ride. I have been blown away by people’s support and kindness. Special thanks go to Graham, the man with the bike! We should be visiting him and it tonight to test it out.

Not so successful! The £10K target still looms on the website. Please sponsor me at JustGiving and give me something nice to think about next Saturday at 4am! Every penny counts.

This is me in beautiful Budapest checking out a great old Trabant, a car with an engine the same size as the one in my lawnmower. Awesome!
